Medical Equipment Installation and Commissioning in Kenya

Ultrascope Medical Supplies arranges installation and commissioning of medical, laboratory and theatre equipment for facilities and homes anywhere in Kenya. Commissioning covers siting, assembly, connection checks, first power-up, calibration where required, and a handover to your staff.

How the work is arranged

Some work we handle directly, and some is carried out by the manufacturer authorised service agents or specialist engineers we work with. We tell you which applies to your equipment, and what it will cost, before anything is booked. If the equipment was not bought from us, send the make and model and we will confirm whether we can take it on.

What installation and commissioning covers

Equipment that arrives in a crate is not the same as equipment that is ready to use, and the gap between the two is where most avoidable damage happens. Commissioning closes it: the device is placed correctly for access and ventilation, assembled, checked against its power, water or gas requirements, powered up under supervision, calibrated or verified where the device demands it, and then demonstrated to the people who will operate it.

Equipment we install

Autoclaves, sterilisers and theatre lights, haematology and biochemistry analysers, centrifuges and microscopes, infant incubators and resuscitaires, patient monitors, dental chairs and units, x-ray viewing and portable imaging units, oxygen concentrators and suction machines, and ward and theatre furniture that requires assembly.

How an installation works

  1. You send the equipment details and the room or site details on WhatsApp.
  2. We confirm what the installation involves, what the site needs to have ready, who will carry it out, and the cost.
  3. The equipment is installed and commissioned, and tested in front of your staff.
  4. You get a handover walkthrough and the warranty and servicing position in writing.

What to have ready before the visit

A cleared and correctly sized space, a stable power point of the right rating, water or drainage if the device needs it, gas supply for anaesthesia and respiratory equipment, and the staff who will use the machine available for the handover. If any of these are unclear, ask before the visit rather than on the day.

Coverage

Nairobi and all 47 counties. For facilities upcountry, travel and scheduling are confirmed in writing before the visit is booked. Hospitals, clinics, NGOs and county facilities can be served on LPO or facility invoice.

Frequently asked questions

Is installation included when I buy from Ultrascope?

It depends on the equipment. Small devices need no installation at all. For capital equipment we tell you at quotation stage whether installation is included in the price or quoted separately, so it is settled before you pay.

How long does a typical installation take?

Most single-device installations are completed in one visit. Larger items such as dental chairs, autoclaves and analysers depend on site readiness, which is why the site requirements are confirmed with you in advance.

Do you train our staff on the equipment?

Commissioning includes a handover walkthrough covering safe start-up, daily use and basic checks. It is operator familiarisation rather than a formal certified training course.

What happens if the equipment fails soon after installation?

Contact us on WhatsApp or phone. Eligible equipment carries manufacturer warranty, and we handle the warranty route with the supplier rather than leaving you to chase it.
